In this message we study 1 Thessalonians 2:1-12 where we see how Paul boldly preached the Gospel to the Thessalonians. Paul did not use flattering words nor manipulation to win souls for Christ nor demand financial gain. Instead, Paul worked as a tent maker which supports the claim that their motives were pure. Paul also uses the image of a nursing mother to illustrate the work of anyone who shepherds or teaches within the family of God. Just as a mother cherishes her little ones, spiritual shepherds should tenderly care for the believers they serve. Just as a mother feeds her children, they should give their spiritual offspring the nourishment they need to grow in Christ.
