From the Pulpit...

We study the matter of tongues and its significance throughout history. "Tongues" refers to a foreign language. It also refers to the miraculous ability to speak a foreign language that is not learned. The speaker understands the foreign language and he speaks it in such a way that native speakers of that language can understand him. The languages we have today are a direct result by God confusing the one-world language during the time of Babel, through His judgment to scatter the people of the earth. As we study tongues throughout the Bible we understand God used tongues as a sign of judgement.
