From the Pulpit...

For Sunday evening, we celebrated the Lord's Table with a reminder that Christians need not fear death, because Christ has conquered it. The believer has the presence of God (Psalm 23:4), the example of the resurrection of Lazarus (John 11), the promise of the resurrection of all people by the power of Christ (John 5), and the very purpose of Christ's coming (Hebrews 2:14-15). According to the latter text, Christ took on flesh to defeat the Devil and to release those who were in bondage because of fear of death.
