Ezekiel for Dummies (Part 9) - Matt Postiff
We continue our study in the book of Ezekiel in the thirty-seventh chapter where we see another vision. God does not change Ezekiel's location but gives him a vivid inward sense that he has been taken to a valley "full of bones." This passage, part of a series of revelations received during the night before the messenger came with the news of the destruction of Jerusalem, was to ease the gloom of the people. The vision ended and Ezekiel was given an object lesson which his people observed. This drama of uniting two sticks offered a second illustration that God will not only regather Israelite's to their land, but will for the first time restore union between Israel and Judah in the messianic reign.
