Unchanged

Another election has come and gone. We have seen the resulting configuration of power before. And while some people are wringing their hands this morning after, or as I said recently in a sermon, biting their fingernails, there is no reason to panic. Why? Because a whole lot has not changed.

God is still sovereign.

God still ordains who will lead nations and kingdoms.

Wrong is still wrong, even if more people are calling it right these days.

The Christian's mission is still the same—to testify about Jesus wherever we are.

Our goal is still to honor God.

Salvation is still by faith alone in Christ alone.

God still wants us to be faithful to Him and to our local church.

Jesus is still coming back.

We must continue to be ready for His return.

All people are still going to die and they still need Christ.

The church's purpose is still to worship God, to teach what Jesus taught us, to share life together, and to plant the seed of the Word.
