At our Lord's Table service today, we were reminded that confession of sin leads to joy. Having joy is part and parcel of the experience of being a follower of Christ. Real joy starts with a saving relationship with Christ and there are many reasons for ongoing joy in life, for example that we are free from the guilty of sin. But sin steals joy. Thankfully, confessing sin can restore that joy (Psalm 51).
