These three verses are convincing that Paul does not need letters of commendation to or from the Corinthians. They themselves are his best recommendation letter because of their conversion to the gospel. Christ wrote the genuine letter on their hearts, and a copy of the letter is on Paul’s heart. Other people could read the recommendation for Paul’s ministry just by looking at the work God had done through him in the lives of the believers.

It should be the case that Christians are the best recommendation for faith in Christ. Your life, if you are a follower of Jesus, is an epistle written by Christ. Do the contents of that letter come across with clarity in your life, or are they crinkled up, hidden, stained, or sealed shut?
