For this Good Friday service, we examined the fact of the crucifixion by reading the Biblical account as well as from the perspective of several external sources including Tacitus, Lucian, Thallus, and even the Jewish Talmud. We then looked at the meaning of the crucifixion in terms of the "it is finished" accomplishment of Jesus. Everything necessary for salvation to be provided for mankind was completed by the Lord at the cross. The resurrection, of course, is the exclamation point on the whole matter. Our next messages address that great event.
