In this session, we returned to Numbers 20:1–13. There, we see that Moses struck the rock twice with his staff, but the Lord had instructed him to speak to the rock, after which the Lord was to provide water for the people. We emphasized the magnitude of that failure and noted the significance of the staff during that and other key points in the long years of Moses’ leadership of the people.
