We continue our series of messages summarizing the Bible one book at a time by looking at the Psalms. The book of the Psalms preserves Israel’s hymnody for the Jewish people from as far back as Moses to the prodigious King David, to Asaph, and others who wrote words suitable for worship at the temple and throughout Israelite life. The message of the book is primarily one of praise. To the Lord should be directed not only praise, but also prayer, confession, thanks, worship, and even anger, grief and lament. This is true both in corporate worship as well as individual interaction with God.
