Two weeks ago we began to look at what exactly Dispensationalism is. Last week we considered the practical usefulness of this approach to understanding Scripture. In this message, Pastor Postiff offered his proposal that we maintain in our minds a clear distinction between Israel, the church, and the future kingdom. In this connection we looked at some of the things that raise confusion among God's people about the kingdom, particularly its timing and its nature. Then we studied some in Acts 1:3-8 about how the Lord told the disciples that they are not to concern themselves with the times and seasons regarding the kingdom of God, but rather are to focus on testifying about Jesus to the world. In other words, we are to focus on the church task God has given us, and leave the kingdom for its own later dispensation.
