The Apostle Paul gives us a magnificent description of who the Christ is in his letters to the Colossians. Christ is the image of God--He is Deity; Christ is Creator; Christ is Sustainer; Christ is the Head of the Church; Christ is the Firstborn from the dead--His resurrection was the first in rank and time, guaranteeing the resurrection of the bodies of NT believers in the future. All of these descriptions of Christ attest that Christ is preeminent over everything.
