We studied two parables under the headings of "Parables about Banquets" because the parables have to do with how to select a seat a feast, how to give an invitation to a feast, and how to respond to the invitation to the feast in the kingdom of God. One of the pointed applications of this message is that we must not make weak excuses about our relationship with God.
