The Bible is the one and only reliable source that explains about angels. 34 books in the Bible speak of them. An angel is a finite spirit being created by God in the opening moments of the creation week. The company of angels is large. Some of the angels revolted against God and became what is known today as "demons" or "fallen angels." The chief of the fallen angels is Satan, also known as the Devil or Lucifer. Very few angels are named, namely Michael and Gabriel.
