From the Pulpit...

After reading of Proverbs 31, Pastor Postiff appealed to the church to pray fervently in light of some of the trials that we have experienced of late. We then studied the truth that there are two possible foundations that our lives can be built upon. There are two builders, two foundations, and two very different results. One life ends in standing firm; the other in complete destruction.

Obeying Jesus is like building a good foundation. Not heeding Jesus is like building on no foundation. It is stupid to build a house without a foundation. In the same way, it is foolish to build a life without Jesus. Life may look similar with or without a foundation for a while, but when the real difficulties come, the foundation shows its worth. When judgment arrives, then the strong foundation is needed.

As much as our human nature does not like to be told what to do, we have to learn to graciously be able to come, hear, and do what Jesus says. It is not only the safe way; it is the only way!
