From the Pulpit...
Eyewitnesses of Glory - Matt Postiff
A large swath of the world says that Christians believe in a fantasy. God, Jesus, heaven, hell, the devil, and all the rest of it is just a made up story, just as true as any fairy tale made up by man. God is our "imaginary friend" or "big person up in the sky;" Jesus never existed, or if He did, he certainly was not as he is portrayed in the text of the New Testament. The resurrection could not have happened; nor could any of the miracles taught in the Bible, like the crossing of the Red Sea or feeding of the 5,000. The assured results of science tell us that the creation is indeed the result of evolution, and that although it had a beginning, that beginning has no supernatural implications. As clever as the Christian narrative may be, it is entirely made up.
Peter has some crucial words that attack this humanistic, unbelieving, and rebellious philosophy.
Before the reading of Genesis 12, Pastor Postiff made some extemporaneous comments relative to the hymn entitled "Joy to the World."
