From the Pulpit...

After reading Genesis 18, we reviewed the last three verses of chapter 2, and then launched into the exposition of chapter 3. The lesson of 2:20-22 is that the false teachers had some acquaintance with Christianity, but they were not ever genuine believers. In chapter 3, Peter reminds us of the second coming of Christ and encourages us to be mindful not only of his teaching, but also of all the apostles and the Old Testament prophets. The bible here warns us of the uniformitarian philosophy that still drives evolution, atheism, and much unbelief in our world today.
