From the Pulpit...

We read Genesis 46 today about Jacob's family moving to Egypt. Then we studied Daniel 3, trying to avoid the trap of familiarity with the storyline. We saw that Nebuchadnezzar's earlier fear looks like it turned into pride as demonstrated by the large statue that he set up. All the people of his empire were commanded to worship the image and its associated gods and king, but the Jews refused to do this. Next time we will pick up at verse 16 to see the response of Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah to the command of the king.
