From the Pulpit...

Job, Part 32 - Matt Postiff

We mentioned the idea of the impassibility of God, and thought about whether that is in fact true, as Elihu suggests it is, relative to mankind's righteousness and sin. We deal with the difficult verses at the end of chapter 35, and then moved into chapter 36 where Elihu claims something that sounds very familiar: that God distributes justice in a very mechanical way, where the wicked are killed and the oppressed are given justice. Exactly how someone gets into the oppressed category is not clear, if the wicked are unable to continue long in their wickedness. We saw exceptions to this theory of God's administration of justice.
