The believer can understand divine revelation, overcome temptation, exercise forgiveness, sacrifice himself for others, convicted of sin and guided by righteous conduct, and he loves God above all and neighbor over himself. These things were absent from our lives before salvation and these things are the direct work of the Holy Spirit.
