A Christian is a thankful person, that is, a person who expresses gratitude and appreciation for what God has done, and in turn what others have done for them. God is working in us to develop ever-more thankful hearts, because thankfulness is a characteristic of holiness.
A non-Christian is not thankful, at least not toward God, and maybe not at all. Thanklessness is a mark of those who do not recognize God’s grace, His power or His divine nature (Romans 1:21). Thanklessness is a morally repugnant trait from which Christian salvation delivers us.
