From the Pulpit...

In this study on prayer, we discuss one of several reasons Christians should pray. Our Lord commands us to pray, but prayer is also a mark of our adoption and therefore should be natural to a believer. The Holy Spirit confers upon the believer a consciousness of his relationship to God, and the believer gives voice to his understanding of his adoption by crying out, "Abba, Father." It is part of the Christian's nature to talk to God, and indifference toward private or corporate prayer is a cause to doubt whether God's Spirit dwells within that person.
